About us
Our hotel is situated in the historical part of Telč, which has been designated as a World Heritage Site (UNESCO). Exactly, it is placed below the Tower of the Holy Spirit at the entrance gate to the square.
The first written reference to this building originates from the 16th century. As the time passed, various trades had been carried on starting with bakery, butcher’s, blacksmith’s, glazier’s, and ending with soap-boiler’s.
The house has been owned by many proprietors. The first documented owner was Šimon kuchynářů, who sold it to Jan Mizha, a baker, in 1534 with a modest equipment like „a table, a little cupboard, and a chair“. That man held the office of Alderman or possibly of Mayor from the year 1538 onwards. In 1655 the day after being sold to the new owner Jakub Pergr, the house burnt down. Another remarkable owner was Matěj Stocker (from 1890), who had held the office of Mayor of Telč for 16 years. The penultimate owner of the series initiated large reconstruction of the house in 1993. However, he was not successful and the house remained uncompleted even 17 years later (as evidenced by the photographs in the Gallery folder).
In 2010 we became approximately the 21st owners counted from the beginning of the 16th century. We were very lucky as we managed to preserve the historical core of the house including the original cellar.
Last year in 2013 reconstruction was finally completed. We hope you like it and it fits well in the wonderful setting of Telč.
We offer you accommodation in the newly renovated hotel at the centre of Telč and we allow our visitors to park right in the hotel courtyard. After all, you may spent a few lovely days in the heart of the town, having a spectacular view of the Tower of the Holy Spirit, the square or the town walls.
You may take trips throughout surrounding wonderful countryside or go and see the historic sights either.
There is also possibility for you to rent the hotel in order to organise various social events, for instance, family or corporate events, friendly gatherings, etc. Furthermore, there is tapping equipment that can be lent, so that you could sit and relax in the original reconstructed cellar.
Hotel capacity is limited to 17 persons.
